How far away is (AI) that will learn to effectively communicate with other (AI) and then assimilate that agent's information?

Computers can be far superior at communicating compared with people. Our communication speed is limited by our speed of speaking, listening and reading. Some people are capable of absorbing information a few times faster than most of us, but still far below an AI system. Top AI programs can read a few hundred pages document probably in seconds and they would have a reasonably good understanding (or to mimic understanding to our satisfaction) and capability of answering questions related to the information contained in the document compared to people. Currently, they are not so good at reasoning and combining information in a novel way. There are very fast changes happening at present and we can expect that the next generations of ChatGPT, Google Bard, Llama 2, Grok, etc will become more performant, perhaps exponentially.
